Hi! I’m Megan

Hi, I’m Megan. I’m a bioarchaeology master’s student with an academic background in biology, ecology, anatomy, and forensic anthropology, and a lifelong fascination with the strange and macabre.
My love of history started early. My grandmother used to take me to historical sites and museums, and those trips became some of my favourite memories — wandering through old buildings, looking at artefacts, imagining the people who once used them. My favourite TV show as a child was Horrible Histories, and honestly, not much has changed. I’ve always been drawn to the macabre, the bizarre, and the overlooked corners of the past.
But even though I adored history, I struggled with the interpretive, abstract side of it. I’ve always had a very scientific, black‑and‑white way of thinking, and I found myself wanting clearer answers, clearer patterns, clearer logic. That’s why I chose to study biology at undergraduate level — it gave me the structure, evidence, and scientific grounding that made sense to me.
Eventually, I realised I didn’t have to choose between the two. Bioarchaeology became the perfect bridge: a field where I could finally follow my passion for history while still using the scientific tools, biological knowledge, and analytical thinking that come naturally to me. Now, I combine all of that with my love of mythology, symbolism, and storytelling to explore the places where history, biology, and imagination overlap.
What I Do
I create content and resources for:
- writers
- worldbuilders
- game designers
- researchers
- Anyone who loves mythology, history, or the macabre
My work includes:
- clear, simple timelines
- symbolism guides
- mythology breakdowns
- forensic realism explainers
- creature design using real biology
- worldbuilding systems and templates
- research notes and deep dives
I also offer research commissions, where I help people make their stories, worlds, and ideas more coherent, realistic, and grounded in real history, biology, or myth.
My Approach
I’m a pattern‑spotter, a system‑builder, and someone who loves turning chaos into clarity. If something is confusing, contradictory, or fragmented, I want to understand it — and then explain it in a way that finally makes sense.
My work is:
- structured
- clear
- research‑driven
- accessible
- a little bit dark and weird (in the best way)
If you enjoy mythology, macabre history, forensic realism, or worldbuilding that actually makes sense, you’ll feel right at home here.
If you need:
- mythology research
- symbolism analysis
- historical accuracy checks
- timeline reconstruction
- forensic/biological realism
- creature or culture design
- worldbuilding logic
- or help making sense of messy lore
…I’d love to work with you.
